The map above outlines the location of Marine Protected Areas (MPA's) according to the definition of MPA's used for the Centre. The map currently contains information on Special Areas of Conservation, Special Protection Areas, Voluntary MPAs and Marine Nature Reserves. However, at present, historical and cultural features are not included.
This interactive map will be fully developed to include key information on each of the sites e.g. contact details for the MPA manager/warden/nature conservation agency officer, a link to relevant websites including the local Sea Fishery Committee and a link to the conservation objectives and management scheme (if available). In addition, links to relevant publications for each of the sites will be developed.
